2 – 4 October 2009
One mountain, one walk, one reason - do you want to take on the UK’s highest mountain and support Breast Cancer Care in 2009?
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Britain, majestically rising 1,344 metres (4,406 feet) amidst the hills and Monroes of the Scottish Highlands.
In 2008, 155 Breast Cancer Care supporters joined us on this fantastic event, stretching their legs and experiencing the ups and downs of the mountain. If you're looking for a UK based adventure, come along with us to Ben Nevis, the famous landmark of Western Scotland. You may be surprised to know that there is no actual climbing involved!
The challenge takes one day (Saturday 3 October) to complete. We start early in the morning and we should finish by late afternoon.
Our route up and down Ben Nevis totals a little over nine miles, but because of the sometimes rocky and uneven terrain you are on the mountain for the majority of the day. This is truly a beautiful walk, with stunning views on a clear day at every turn.
Please note you will arrive in Fort William the day before the walk and depart Fort William the day after. Hotel accommodation, transfers to and from Glasgow and meals are included. For more information, take a look at our details page.
The event suits people of average fitness and stamina, but you must train and prepare for it in order to enjoy the challenge as much as you would like to. When you sign up you will be provided with a training guide and Breast Cancer Care will be on hand to support you all the way.
Due to popular demand please call the challenges team on 0845 092 0805 for availability and to be added to our reserve list.
We look forward to walking with you! For a full listing of terms and conditions relating to the Ben Nevis Challenge please see the attached Word document.
