London to Paris Cycle Ride
18-22 June 2008 or 3-7 September 2008
The London to Paris Cycle Ride is one of Europe's great cycling experiences.
Take the scenic route
You will pass through picturesque Kent countryside, cross the Channel and continue through the small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France, passing the famous battlefields of the Somme and Agincourt.
With long days in the saddle and some strenuous hill-climbs, the sight of the Eiffel Tower (our finishing point) should evoke a real sense of achievement and pride.
Celebrate in Paris!
Travel, four nights accommodation and a celebratory meal in Paris is all arranged for you to help make this event a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
Our last day in Paris allows you enough time to explore the city streets and soak up the romantic atmosphere of this majestic city.
Accommodation
You will spend four nights in four star hotels during this challenge. The hotels are comfortable and well appointed but not luxurious.
All rooms have en suite facilities and will be shared (usually twin-bedded) single sex rooms.
If there is someone in particular you would like to share a room with, let us know on your registration form.

Weather

What to take
We strongly recommend you ride a road bike or racing bike for this event due to the long distances involved on well surfaced-roads.
Discover Adventure can provide participants with a bike at an additional cost. It is imperative that you supply your own helmet and wear it at all times while cycling.
You main luggage will be transported for you in the support vehicles - all you will need to carry is your daily essentials.
Fitness level
This event suits people of average fitness. You will be cycling for approximately eight hours per day for four consecutive days over undulating terrain, mainly on narrow country roads.
Distances are fairly long, varying from 95 kilometres to 125 kilometres per day. Participants should make sure they are fit enough to manage these distances confidently.
