Congratulations to all runners who took part in the Bupa London 10,000 on Monday. Despite the weather conditions we hope you all enjoyed the race and what will be part of the Olympic marathon route in 2012. Thank you from everyone at Breast Cancer Care for taking part and raising funds to help provide many of our vital services.

Should anyone be interested in taking part in the 2009 Bupa London 10,000 please email us at the address below and we will send you more details once the date for next year’s race has been confirmed.

Starting on the Mall and finishing in front of Buckingham Palace, the course will be based on the 10k loop the Olympic Marathon runners will use. As such this will be a high profile event attracting a strong elite field and acting as a showcase for London in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games and beyond.

Organised by the team responsible for the London Marathon, this race promises to be one of the biggest and most popular of the year - and Breast Cancer Care would love to have you on board!

Fundraising

To sign up to one of Breast Cancer Care’s guaranteed places in this event you will need to pledge to raise at least £600 in sponsorship money.

Alternatively if you have your own place in the event and would like to support Breast Cancer Care we do ask that you pledge to raise some money for the charity. However, there is no minimum amount, we just ask that you raise as much as possible. In order to help you we will send you a pack full of tips and sponsorship forms and will be on hand to offer advice and answer any of your queries.

How we will support you

In return for pledging to raise money for us we will support you by providing you with:

• A state of the art running vest
• A support pack full of fundraising and training advice
• A training plan and top tips from our sports ambassador Denise Lewis
• Support and advice from a dedicated member of the sports team
• Regular newsletters and emails to keep you updated
• Fundraising materials to help you including balloons, posters and collection tins

How to enter

Places for the 2009 event via the official race organisers have not gone on sale yet. Breast Cancer Care will have a limited number of entries in the 2009 event please send an email to the address below if you are interested in running for Breast Cancer Care.
