About the route
A wonderful walk through picturesque villages and along forest trails on the low hills of the northern South Downs, which also explores the beautiful grounds of Petworth Park and Cowdray Park.
The 10 and 20 mile events begin in front of the vast 17th century Petworth House and its glorious boating lake. As a Pink Ribbonwalk participant you enter the grounds for free and have the opportunity to explore some of the county’s finest countryside. All your supporters will be offered discounted entry to the House and grounds.
We walk through Petworth’s deer filled grounds, landscaped by Capability Brown and follow sections of the newly opened Serpents Trail. At the village of Lodsworth the 20 milers continue towards Bexley Hill where there are wonderful views over the South Downs. They walk through the pretty village of Easebourne in the Rother Valley and enter the Cowdray Estate taking in the stunning Cowdray Ruins. The 10 mile route will pass Lodsworth village before rejoining the 20 milers on their way to Pitshill and Petworth.
The 10 and 20 mile participants re-enter Petworth Park and join one of the main paths back through the grounds to our stunning finish in front of Petworth House.
