One catwalk. 24 inspiring models. One purpose.

Wednesday 7 October 2009
One day. Two shows
Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London

The 2009 London Fashion Show was another fabulous occasion of fashion, fundraising and celebration of our stunning models as they hit the catwalk for the first time following their diagnosis of breast cancer. Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported this very special event.

"Where can I start, I have just had the time of my life. What can I say but a big thank you to you all for making this happen. The whole time will be an experience I will never forget."
Carol, Fashion show model

Take a look at our pictures showing our dazzling models, celebrity friends and event hosts.

The Show was opened by three world class gymnasts who set the scene with an exciting rhythmic performance. Guests at The Grosvenor House on Park Lane were welcomed by host Andrea McLean of Loose Women fame who then introduced this years show. The catwalk looked amazing and models wowed the crowd with clothes from generous contributors including Jenny Packham, Vivienne Westwood, Next and Dorothy Perkins. New for this year was an exclusive scene from students at Somerset College of Art who introduced us to upcoming trends. Our thanks to Claire Ginzler and her team for individually styling our models along with Vidal Sassoon and Estée Lauder for the models hair and make-up.

After tea the crowd were entertained by Brit award winning singer/songwriter Beverley Craven with hits including ‘Promise Me’ and ‘Holding On.’ Having herself experienced a diagnosis of breast cancer, Beverley told us: ‘The Show is a spectacular event and it is a real honour for me to be here and show my support for the amazing men and women up on the catwalk.’

Only a few hours later we were ready for the evening show. Guests stepping onto the pink carpet included host Gail Porter, Lisa Snowdon, Geri Halliwell, Vanessa Feltz, Denise Lewis and Strictly Come Dancing couple Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova.

The crowd were once again in awe of our models as they hit the catwalk for their evening show finale. Guests were upstanding for the highlight of the event and encouraged the stars of the show, our models, with whoops and cheers.

Thank you

With over 950 prizes at the afternoon and evening show we had winners in the raffle, exciting Heads and Tails game and luxury scrolls. New for this year was also an afternoon silent auction. Lord Jeffrey Archer led the main auction with wonderful prizes including a trip to Match of The Day, a holiday in South Africa and a private dancing lesson with Strictly's Darren and Lillia and the silent auction was as popular as ever.

Any guests at the evening show who still have their silent auction card, please return to Hayley Bishop, Breast Cancer Care, 5-13 Great Suffolk Street, London, SE1 0NS.

Breast Cancer Care would like to thank our kind sponsors and Gold Donors, companies and individuals who have so generously supported The Show this year.
