How to sign up
The more people you can get to join your team the better, as it can make the training and fundraising even more fun!
The minimum number of people in a team is two, there is no maximum limit. Please note that the minimum fundraising is set at £175 per participant and not per team. Any money raised will be split evenly between the team members.
If your group is more than two people you must give yourselves a team name.
Step by step guide to creating a group
- First, register and pay your registration fee on the Pink Ribbonwalk website.
- At any point after registering, go back to the Pink Ribbonwalk website (you will need your log in details) and ensure you are logged in.
- Click on ‘Your Event’.
- Click on ‘Create a Team’.
- Fill out your details, submit your group information and put a group photo up if you like.
- Email your friends and invite them to join your group.
- Once your invitees have accepted your request to join the group, their names will appear on your group information page.
- They will then be taken to the registration pages where they will need to sign up and pay their £30 registration fee.
Step by step guide to joining my friend’s group
- You must be invited by the group leader (as above) who will be the person who originally created the group.
- Accept the invitation from the group leader, which you will receive by email.
- You will then be taken to www.pinkribbonwalk.org.uk where you can pay your £30 registration fee and sign up to the walk and therefore become a member of the group.
Frequently asked questions about creating a team
I can’t accept the invite I was sent to join my friend’s team. What can I do?
If you are having a problem with the website, you can call the helpline on 0870 145 0101. You will need to register for the event, and pay your registration fee. We can then add you to your friend’s team manually.
What should I do if I have forgotten my password for the website and I need to log-in to set up a team?
On the Pink Ribbonwalk home page, click on the “forgotten password?” link at the bottom of the sign-in box. Type in the email address you used to register, and click “submit”. This will email a password reminder to you.
If you still can’t log in, or are unsure of your username, please call the helpline on 0870 145 0101 and they can set up a team for you over the phone.
I’m having a problem with the website, and I want to create a team. Can I set up a team over the phone?
Yes, you can. Call the helpline on 0870 145 0101 and ask to create a team.
My friends and I are already registered. Can we still form a team?
Yes, you can. If you have already registered, you must create a team over the phone by calling the helpline on 0870 145 0101.
Registrations are now closed. Can I still join my friends’ team?
Yes, you will be able to join the team on the day when you sign-in. You will need to know the name of the team, and if possible the full name and Breast Cancer Care number of another member of the team.
I have formed a team, but another friend isn’t sure if he/she can take part yet. Can I add more people to my team later?
Yes, you can keep adding more members to your team online or over the phone on 0870 145 0101 right up until the close of registrations. Remember that to add someone over the phone they will need to be already registered, so it may be easier to ask your friend to call and register over the phone and then ask to join your team. You can also add extra team members on the day.
