About the route
This stunning walk takes us through the quiet country lanes and riverside trails around Scone Palace, regarded as the geographical and historic heart of Scotland.
Both the 10 and 20 mile events begin in front of the historic Palace, near to the site where the Kings of Scotland were crowned and anointed. As a Pink Ribbonwalk participant you not only enter the grounds of stunning Scone Palace for free, you also get to immerse yourself in the history of the area and walk through some beautiful countryside. All your supporters will be offered discounted entry to the Palace and grounds.
We head to the banks of the River Tay before passing through New Scone village. At New Scone the 20 milers continue north following forest tracks through Muirward Wood towards the idyllic hamlet of St Martins, passing ‘The Witches' Stone’. The 10 milers head west and pass beautiful open farmland tracks and cottages before rejoining the 20 milers at the village of Waulkmill and heading south towards Scone Palace along the tree lined banks of the River Tay.
The 10 and 20 mile participants re-enter the Scone Palace grounds and walk through picturesque gardens and pass by the Palace until arriving to a very warm welcome at the finish.
