Lavender Trust 10th Anniversary Party

Emma Thompson, Nigella Lawson and Thandie Newton played host to a celebrity gala at Claridges to celebrate 10 years of the Lavender Trust and celeb-ville turned out in force to show their support for younger women with breast cancer.   Long term supporters of the Lavender Trust rubbed shoulders with celebrity guests including Bob Geldolf, Erin O'Connor, Claudia Winkleman, Lisa Snowdon and Patsy Kensit.

Annie Lennox performed at a party to launch the Lavender Trust 10 years ago and she was back with an exciting performance in front of over 270 guests.  Thandie Newton also took to the stage, treating the audience to a brilliant rendition of Dolly Parton's 'Islands in the Stream'.

The Lavender Trust was founded by Justine Picardie and Beth Wagstaff in 1998 in memory of Justine's sister Ruth who died of breast cancer at the age of 33.  Beth had also been diagnosed with the disease in her early 30s and like Ruth and many other young women, she was shocked by the failure of services for younger women with breast cancer.   The Lavender Trust was therefore set up in order to raise money to help other young women dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis.

The event raised over £300,000 for the Lavender Trust and was kindly sponsored by John Frieda and Nude skincare both long term supporters of the Lavender Trust.  Watch out for exclusive photos of the party in Harpers magazine.
