The trek
Experience the adventure of a lifetime trekking along one of the eight wonders of the world - the Great Wall of China. Your route will head off the beaten track, through the beautiful remote hills and villages surrounding Beijing. This trek offers fantastic scenery, from spectacular wooded valleys to rocky gorges. You will also get to spend an afternoon trekking through secluded Mongolia. And at the end of the trek you'll get to spend a day in the exciting city of Beijing.
Accommodation
We stay in local lodges and in a hotel in Beijing at the end of the trek. You will be sharing a room with another trip member. If there is someone in particular you would like to share a room with, let us know on your registration form.
Costs
Non-refundable registration fee: £250
Minimum sponsorship target: £3250
80% of minimum sponsorship target to be received by 2 February 2009
Final 20% of minimum sponsorship target to be received by 25 May 2009.
The tour cost is £TBC and includes flights from London that are approximately £1499 (including tax). These costs are paid from your minimum fundraising.
Weather
We expect the weather to be warm during the day with temperatures reaching 25ºC. In the evenings it can feel cooler so you will need to have some warm clothes to put on. You must be prepared though for all eventualities so remember to pack wet weather gear!
Fitness level
This trek suits people of average fitness. You will be trekking for approximately six to eight hours per day, for six days, over varying terrains both on and off the Great Wall of China.For more information on this challenge, follow the links on the right hand side of the screen.
