Trek Cuba
27 February - 8 March 2010
Join us for this walking challenge on the mesmerising Caribbean island of Cuba. Trek through some of its most remote and picturesque regions in the world; Cuba boasts mountains, jungle, rivers, waterfalls and views you will never forget!
Steeped in history, naturally beautiful and culturally vibrant Cuba is a real delight. For six days you will travel through the heart of the island, exploring on foot rarely visited areas. This challenge combines both camping and lodge stays.
After exploring the capital, Havana, our journey begins in the Escambray Mountains. Before long, you will be surrounded by lush tropical forests, orange and mango orchards and coffee plantations.
Continuing our challenge up and over hills and valleys, we follow the course of several rivers, as we summit and gaze in awe at the awesome Rio Grande Falls - a view not to be missed!
From here our journey continues into the hills, climbing as we go, but the steep ascent will be well worth it when you glimpse for the first time the UNESCO World Heritage city of Trinidad and the sparkling, tempting sea. Finally, take time to celebrate the end of trek with a refreshing dip in the clear pools of the Caballero waterfall.
